Client  Liverpool Mutual Homes

Dates  1st April 2008 to 1st April 2009

Period  52 weeks

Value  Target cost £1,400,000

Contract  Part of a framework via Fusion21Supply Chain, using the ...

Scope of works

The replacement of existing timber windows and doors to 1200 dwellings to 2 CHIA’s in the suburbs of Liverpool.
The work originally was to be install only with all major materials supplied via the Fusion Process, however due to quality and performance issues with the door supplier we subsequently procured the doors directly, this was a major variation to the original scope of the contract. The estimated final account value after the addition of door supply and additional properties is now in excess of £2 million.

Innovations

The contract was awarded to Kinetics Group after 5 successful years working in partnership on the Fusion21 Framework and was the first project to be carried out for a new Client. Without the security of Contract formalities being completed we were required to “hit the ground running” with dwellings being ready for inspection and handover and publicity photographs within 24 hours of commencement.

By investing in 2 small factory units within the areas of allocation we were able to provide an efficient prompt service for the residents.

The Site Management team included a full time Resident Liaison Officer to ensure good communication with the residents, many of whom had not had refurbishment works carried out on their homes for over 20 years.
The scheme was one of 3 pilot window programmes carried out on behalf of LMH with the level of performance, reliability, quality and overall compliance being subject to strict monitoring in comparison with the other 2 contractors. Given the performance to date we are pleased to confirm that the Client will award additional follow-on properties for 2009/10.

The Client also monitors the level of local employment and recruitment and again our results have compared favourably with the 2 other contractors.
