The Housing Prime contract was awarded on Monday 14 November 2005 to MODern Housing Solutions (MHS), a partnership that includes Hudson Engineering Services. The contract represents a significant milestone in Defence Estate’s efforts to modernise the system for repairs and maintenance of Service Families Accommodation (SFA).

The contract covers the whole SFA estate across England and Wales, with the exception of PFI properties where existing arrangements will continue. SFA in Scotland already has its own contract arrangements. The contract will run for seven years, with the option to extend for a further three years based on satisfactory performance. The process began on 30 January 2006.
