Following on from the success of last years Health and Safety Awareness Month the Kinetics Group QHSE Department repeated the event again this year. During June 2009 the QHSE department ran a series of road shows across the Group helping to spread the health and safety message to employees, clients and sub-contractors throughout the Group.

During the road shows a series of workshops and presentations were given by all members of the QHSE Team focusing on key issues relevant to the Group. This year’s presentations and workshops focused on Asbestos, Manual Handling, Slips, Trips and falls, Driving Safely, Safe use of Ladders and First Aid. Vickie Sorotos (QHSE Assistant) who is currently studying her BSc (Hons) in Environmental Management also joined the road show events with her Environmental Display which helped to promote the important environmental issues relevant to the Group along with some of the current environmental strategies being overseen by the QHSE Dept.

Thanks to the fantastic support and sponsorship from some of the Kinetics Groups suppliers the QHSE team were able to hold other events across the month of June such as a prize H&S quiz to further promote the Health and Safety Message. The Health and Safety Awareness month looked for employees to get their children involved in a safety poster competition with posters and calendars being made from the winning entries. Paul Kennedy, head of the QHSE dept, said the children’s poster competition is a fantastic opportunity not only to get people talking to their families about health and safety but also the posters and calendars help to keep the health and safety message going in a fun way for the next 12 months.

Paul also went on to say that purpose of the Health and Safety Awareness Month helps to give an overview of just how seriously the Kinetics Group takes Health and Safety and allows the QHSE Team to get out to all corners of the business and speak to people on the shop floor. Our thanks to all those involved, the road shows were a huge success again this year for both employers and employees and we are already working on next years event!
