BS EN OHSAS 18001 is the internationally recognised standard for Health and Safety management systems, promoting a safe and healthy working environment by providing a framework that allows accredited companies to consistently identify and control Health and Safety-related risks.
The standard also helps end user companies reduce the potential for accidents at work, helps with legislative compliance and assists with the improvement of overall performance.
For The Kinetics Group, the BS EN OHSAS 18001 accreditation adds to existing accreditations for both the ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 standards and further underlines the Groups strong commitment to Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Management.
The accreditation, which was achieved over a period of 12 months, was gained on the 1st December 2009 following a number of audits from NQA, which assessed the Groups health and safety procedures.
Speaking of the award, Paul Kennedy (QHSE Director), said: “We have worked extremely hard to achieve this accreditation, which comes after a process of installing a health and safety management system based on the OHSAS 18001 Standard across the Group. Having completed the audit process and gaining OHSAS 18001 accreditation is something that we the QHSE Department are extremely proud to have achieved. |
