Case Studies:

Working with Stonham

Stonham is England's largest provider of housing and support for vulnerable people and  is the care and support division of Home, one of the UK's leading providers of affordable rented housing, supported housing and low-cost home ownership. They work with over 13,500 socially excluded people every year. Stonham's mix of housing services and support allows their tenants to live independently in a range of accommodation from supported housing to managed bed spaces and hostels.

Stonham's services are truly nationwide. They run 577 residential services across the country, where people live and receive support from their professional and dedicated staff.

Kinetics provide a range of maintenance services to Stonham. All works are let under a schedule of rates and are based upon minimum and average job costs. The turnover of this work is not significant at c £ 500k per annum, but the workload is demanding and requires us to use social as well as technical skills. As you can see from the range of housing types in management, Kinetics technicians are experienced in working in a wide range of property types with tenants from a number of social and with a range of mental and other heath backgrounds. This means that our staff have to be aware of diversity and other issues when interacting with the tenants, and they are versed in safe and careful working.

The project covers a wide geographic area of south and south midland England. We have established systems to manage such diverse stock which is based in rural, coastal and urban areas. The project has been demanding in many ways but we have managed to establish a sound reputation with regular feedback based upon high satisfaction levels. In those instances where we have made mistakes we have worked with Stonham to quickly resolve the problem to ensure that it does not reoccur again in the future.
