North West Construction Awards Published: 4th June 2008.
IMPACT
received its second award when they won the Manchester Best Practice Award for
the (sub regional) Project of the Year. IMPACT’s partners include the Lord
Group.
Members
of the team enjoyed the celebration on the night, when receiving the award,
which was held in 
Nigel Wilson, Chief Executive of Parkway Green, said “these two awards are a
fantastic recognition for all involved in IMPACT and for the hard work that
both the consortium members and our partnering contractors have put in over the
past year, to make it work so well.” He also expressed his “appreciation
to the awards’ sponsors and organisers, for making it possible for this
recognition to be acknowledged in such a high profile way.”
Partnership of the Year 2008. Housing Excellence Awards Published: 15th May 2008.
Lords were delighted to receive accolade last night when they
were successful in a joint bid with the IMPACT framework in Manchesterto be named “Partnership of the
Year” at the Housing Excellence Awards. The IMPACT partnership is one of the
company’s major frameworks and is delivered by Bob Kershaw, Simon Stott and his
team with input from Janet Lord as
the overall framework champion. IMPACT has delivered an amazing amount of work
over its initial 18 month period with true partnership working between all the
contractors and clients involved. It is now a beacon of good practice in the
National Change Agents programme of purchasing consortiums across the UK
Apprentice of the Year: Paul Withers Published January 2008.
Paul Withers was awarded Apprentice of the Year at Oldham College
after completing his NVQ level 3 in Joinery recently. Paul has gone from
strength to strength with Lords and the company is now sponsoring him through
Level 4 and hopefully beyond. He is committed and hard working and is currently
enjoying a new role as TLO on the IMPACT Manchester
framework. This will broaden his experience and help with progression in future
roles. We would like to congratulate Paul and hope his good example provides
inspiration to all our other 13 apprentices.
Launch of Southway Housing Trust. Published November 2007.
We did it again! Last year we successfully mobilized with
Parkway Green to undertake their first window replacement on the opening day of
the new company. The team at Lords was once again in the limelight as they
completed Southway Housing Trusts first property on day one. Well done! In
addition we were pleased to welcome Abdullah Ahmed as an apprentice joiner and
a Southway resident on the same day. We will continue to provide training
opportunities for local people on our frameworks as part of our long term
commitment to our clients and the communities in which we work.
Procurement for All Expansion Published October 2007
After nearly 5 years of working with Procurement for All
successfully delivering large scale cyclical redecoration contracts, we have
now been selected to deliver both kitchen and bathroom and Window and Door
replacement programmes for Housing 21, Johnnie Johnston Housing Associations,
Mercian and the Accent Group. This work
will take us across the North WestNottingham,
Cumbria and Shropshire. and
Yorkshire with schemes in more distant areas such as
SME Contractor of the Year Published: 31st December 2004
Judges were unanimous in their choice of the winner for 2004, stating that the “the Lord Group is doing all the right things.” They said “The company makes excellent use of best practise tools, and has applied them wholeheartedly.
Key to the firm’s success has been the collaboration with Constructing Excellence and benchmarking of its performance. The firm’s senior management team developed a business plan to address its key weaknesses, and significantly brought in an external change manager to engage the whole company in understanding partnering. With partnering featuring so prominently in the social housing market, landing such contracts naturally became a key aim for the Lord Group.
Lord Group lands Oldham ALMO First Choice Homes partnership Published: 31st August 2003
With partnering featuring so prominently in the social housing market, landing such contracts naturally became a key aim for the Lord Group. So its was with great satisfaction that the company secured its first partnering deal worth £30 million over five years with Oldham ALMO First Choice Homes in August 2003. The project has since been awarded Housing Forum demonstration project status, and as the group bids for similar contracts, it is now out-staging national players in the three-stage selection process.
